Texas BIG Rain

  

Friday April 23.  It rained all morning the day we arrived, the weather it was humid, so much water we nearly drown..Shannon don’t you cry 😂.  Lot’s of rain...hail, thunder and lightning.  Ohh doggies.  Luckily it only lasted 1/2 the day.  We are not just staying at any campground; this KOA was voted campground of the year 2015!   A lot can happen in 6 years, just saying.  No really this is a very nice campground. Swimming pool, fishing pond, hiking/biking trails, restaurant, store, laundry, bike and go cart rentals.  We did enjoy our Salado Creek Greenway bike ride.

Where are we honey, don’t get us lost.  Look you can tighten my seat, love this repair stations with bike pumps.


  
Moss balls...not moth balls, MOSS balls.  Apparently they do not harm the trees, fences and other things they grow on, a non parasite entity.  This one was filled with potato bugs..you know Rollie pollie’s . Gross.

Lilly Pads...much nicer.

Lookie here...a tennis/pickleball court.  Go get the paddles.  

Only 5 cars..but he whistled and pulled the horn!  It’s the small things.

Scarey...this driver when up the freeway exit...yikes...fortunately he realized his mistake and made a quick u turn..this is when you want a car with a good turning axis.  Whew.


Who cares if I get wet...just washed my hair and got a rain water rinse, thank you Lord. tha’ts all folks.  Big day tomorrow...stay tuned.

 Day One…first, it has been yearsss since writing a blog and using this site,  Already there is a pencil icon in my way of typing, what is up with that!!! Does it really matter

 Really, I am not going to change it or try and fix it, that would require sending another link and confusing everyone especially me!  So the name of the Blog was suppose to be “Heads Carolina, tails California and then you have a title for each post.  Well I wondered where the “one mile at a time aka you never know when you’ll breakdown”came from.  Apparently I opened up an existing blog and just added to it,  well, that title could be any of our trips so it is staying!  Now I am really going to bed, we plan on leaving around 8 am tomorrow Monday March 9.  I downloaded the APP so I hope that helps, I see I am having difficulty with picture placement…by the end of August I should have it down! Did someone say Friday the 13th?

​where to start…  Gas buddy directed us to a gas station in Abilene, Texas that was $3.15 a gallon just off the freeway and there was a Walmart perfect! We need yogurt creamer, and M&Ms💕 it all seemed perfect, especially when we saw the Brahms ice cream store over the hood of this guy‘s truck,(for those of you not familiar with Brahms ice cream, It is the best but it’s only in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and may be a handful of othet state states.) then we noticed the sign that they were out of unleaded gas🥲 we went in anyways and got our three items in a store that we don’t think anyone looked happy glad to be out and over to Brahms John got a sundae I didn’t feel like ice cream I got a fry. It was OK. GasBuddy leads us to another gas station for $3.49 it was supposed to be $3.19 and everywhere else in Abilene is 3.19. we’re in a motorhome at 7 miles a gallon a few blocks we find the $3.15  gas, perfect!
