Waco Decoration and Distillery

  

Tuesday April 27, 2021.  Thank you “Gas Buddy” app...$2.21 per gallon!  Stopped at Buc-ee’s ..a small station in Gruene, only 128 gas pumps..and a store twice the size of Costco.

We need to stop and figure out where we are going...here is a nice park..level, ran the generator, took showers.  The middle island in this lake is loaded with white birds....all different kinds, egrates, white turns and great white herons.



Waco TX, home to the Magnolia Silos, Chip and Joanna Gaines Fixer upper people.  Beautiful grounds, with little shops all around a large grass area.

 
Joanna renovated this church and moved it to the property.

 
Out back are about 10 different food trucks, cute as can be. Selling a variety of tasty tidbits, love the Gourmet Grilled Cheese.


 
We are standing in front of a ball park, kids size.  Lots of games, bocce ball, corn hole, lounging chairs.

Hey big spender...my sugar Daddy!  They use to be a nickel, these beauties..$3.20 each!!!!

The Balcones Distillery...they make Whiskey...luckily they also had some beer.  They are our Harvest Host tonight.  John bought a flight ......2 were drinkable.
Our digs...unfortunately birds roost on the lovely tower we parked next to and our motorhome was covered in the morning.  (Cleaning it is our Big Story for tomorrow).  Our other dilemma....we bought TP at our last Walmart stop and I remember putting it somewhere different because my regular spot was kinda full.  Well..this motorhome isn’t over 100 square feet...can I find it??? NO.  I tore this place apart, it will be interesting to find it someday.   We were suppose to be at a pecan farm tonight but they were having an event, good thing I bought my pecans earlier in the trip!

 Day One…first, it has been yearsss since writing a blog and using this site,  Already there is a pencil icon in my way of typing, what is up with that!!! Does it really matter

 Really, I am not going to change it or try and fix it, that would require sending another link and confusing everyone especially me!  So the name of the Blog was suppose to be “Heads Carolina, tails California and then you have a title for each post.  Well I wondered where the “one mile at a time aka you never know when you’ll breakdown”came from.  Apparently I opened up an existing blog and just added to it,  well, that title could be any of our trips so it is staying!  Now I am really going to bed, we plan on leaving around 8 am tomorrow Monday March 9.  I downloaded the APP so I hope that helps, I see I am having difficulty with picture placement…by the end of August I should have it down! Did someone say Friday the 13th?

​where to start…  Gas buddy directed us to a gas station in Abilene, Texas that was $3.15 a gallon just off the freeway and there was a Walmart perfect! We need yogurt creamer, and M&Ms💕 it all seemed perfect, especially when we saw the Brahms ice cream store over the hood of this guy‘s truck,(for those of you not familiar with Brahms ice cream, It is the best but it’s only in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and may be a handful of othet state states.) then we noticed the sign that they were out of unleaded gas🥲 we went in anyways and got our three items in a store that we don’t think anyone looked happy glad to be out and over to Brahms John got a sundae I didn’t feel like ice cream I got a fry. It was OK. GasBuddy leads us to another gas station for $3.49 it was supposed to be $3.19 and everywhere else in Abilene is 3.19. we’re in a motorhome at 7 miles a gallon a few blocks we find the $3.15  gas, perfect!
