World’s Largest Popcorn Ball

​We left Ewing Missouri and headed towards Cedar Rapids Iowa to ABC acres. A small farm with homegrown vegetables, some animals and a very friendly kitty cat.



The way harvest host works is that you donate or purchase items in there usually self-serve store. John got some jellies and caramel dip for his apples.


Stopping at Walmart and we’re not even spending the night there! Since we have been in Harvest Hosts, we have not stayed at a Walmart, Cabales  or pilot gas station. once in a while a Cracker Barrel for John😋


Driving towards Iowa it started raining pretty hard so we took cover in a Laundromat . No, it’s not a slot machine, but this laundromat doesn’t use Apple Pay and you had to have 12 quarters for each load of laundry😳 with the humidity we were running out of clothes we did three loads!


Lucky for you were on this trip and save you the drive, but give you the enjoyment of seeing things like the world‘s largest popcorn ball 😬 it’s en cased in this building and it weighs over 9000 pounds, crazy! It’s in sac city, Iowa in case you want to see it for yourself🙂

    I am from Iowa and I have never seen the world’s largest popcorn ball. I will have to seek it out the next time I go down.

Does it really matter

 Really, I am not going to change it or try and fix it, that would require sending another link and confusing everyone especially me!  So the name of the Blog was suppose to be “Heads Carolina, tails California and then you have a title for each post.  Well I wondered where the “one mile at a time aka you never know when you’ll breakdown”came from.  Apparently I opened up an existing blog and just added to it,  well, that title could be any of our trips so it is staying!  Now I am really going to bed, we plan on leaving around 8 am tomorrow Monday March 9.  I downloaded the APP so I hope that helps, I see I am having difficulty with picture placement…by the end of August I should have it down! Did someone say Friday the 13th?

​where to start…  Gas buddy directed us to a gas station in Abilene, Texas that was $3.15 a gallon just off the freeway and there was a Walmart perfect! We need yogurt creamer, and M&Ms💕 it all seemed perfect, especially when we saw the Brahms ice cream store over the hood of this guy‘s truck,(for those of you not familiar with Brahms ice cream, It is the best but it’s only in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and may be a handful of othet state states.) then we noticed the sign that they were out of unleaded gas🥲 we went in anyways and got our three items in a store that we don’t think anyone looked happy glad to be out and over to Brahms John got a sundae I didn’t feel like ice cream I got a fry. It was OK. GasBuddy leads us to another gas station for $3.49 it was supposed to be $3.19 and everywhere else in Abilene is 3.19. we’re in a motorhome at 7 miles a gallon a few blocks we find the $3.15  gas, perfect!
